Preemie Hat

Another hat for my charity knitting group. This yarn - Dark Horse Yarn - is so soft you just want to rub your face in it. I'm going to make another hat in adult size for a cancer center. This pattern is great because it's ribbed so it's very stretchy to fit various sized heads. I got the pattern from here.

Preemie Hat

I'm in a great group on Ravelry for charity knitting. Every month, we send baby hats to a "host" and then the host will give all the hats to a charity of their choice. This month, all the hats will be going to Stitches From the Heart.. I made 2 hats yesterday and got them in the mail today. Here's one of them.

Here's a gift for a friend that had her fourth baby on Tuesday. The hat is the ribbons hat from Itty Bitty Hats. The booties are Saartje's Bootees and the cutest I've ever seen, I just want to eat them up.

It's official .....

I officially have two 9 year olds! No, they are not twins .... the one with the glasses will be 10 at the end of March. He's looking forward to being in the "double digits". But yesterday was M's day ..... I have been sick, so I didn't want to even bake my boy a cake. He chose a Bruster's ice cream cake anyway; and when given the choice to pick anything for supper, he chose Captain D's. What a great kid that's easy to please. So we had our fish (he had shrimp), ate his cake, and stayed up a little late and watched a movie.

I thought I'd add this pic just for the pure cuteness factor:

This is so embarassing ......

I cannot believe I'm showing this to the world. But as you can clearly see - I need help - and the Domestic Diva is going to help me. So this is the view from the door.

See the black bag on the floor .... that's some of my scrapbook stuff in the black bag. And what better place for some folding chairs than against the wall?

This is my table that you can't see because of all the stuff on it. As you can see, I have some pretty cool shelves on one whole wall. The table is right up against that wall. As The Domestic Diva suggests, I am moving it to the middle of my room

Hey, what's wooden thing in the right of this picture, oh yes .... it is a trunk standing on it's end because I can't think of a better place to put it. And there's some of my yarn, just lying on the floor - poor wool that could be a hat. Oh, and what's that under the right flap of the box?

Why is my sewing machine! There it is! It is a sad day when a woman can't sew in her own sewing room. A made a shirt for little Red yesterday, and I brought my machine to the kitchen table.

My first challenge is to get the table cleared off. What should I do with everything, put it on the floor until the floor is the cleaning target? I will get to this hopefully tomorrow .... I am very sick with a sore throat today and hopefully my shot will kick in overnight.

Hermosa part 2

Here are two options .... put a trim of the bottom fabric around the neck .... or make two tubes out of bottom fabric and tie them into bows.

You won't believe what it's doing here .....

First of all, Happy Birthday, Papa ..... we got your wish!!!!! Do you see wha'ts on Molly's hair???

Do you see all the white on the trampoline??

IT"S SNOWING IN GEORGIA!!!!!!!! My boys are saying, "It's a miracle!!"

Finished Hermosa (almost)

I cut this shirt out last night and sewed it up today. I think it is the UGLIEST shirt, ever. Does it need brown bias tape around the neck or what?

help me, mama!

Allright, Mom .... here is a pic of how it is. The bottom shows how it will criss cross in the front. There are no other pieces except the sleeves.

Happy New Year!

We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, did you? Or course, the kids got waaaaay too much. I'm thinking that by the time it was over, each kid got about 15 gifts (from grandparents, us, aunts, and uncles). Multiply that times 6 children and that's a lot of stuff! My home has still not recovered. Ah well, there will be time for cleaning once the boys go back to school (which is tomorrow, can you believe it??)

In knitting news, I'm working on a sweater vest. I'll try to post pics of it tomorrow when I've gotten a little more finished of it.

I'll leave you with a pre-haircut pic of Red when she got her mermaid for her birthday a few weeks before Christmas. She loved it!
